I was given the opportunity to create the drone models for TAG111's Murder Drones fan series: DRONES GONE DEFECTIVE, to be created in SFM which utilizes the Source Engine. This project was a huge task & an incredible learning experience to ensure that the characters remained flexible in terms of aesthetics & technicality within the limits of a nearly 15 year old version of the engine. I ran into many limitations & spent long hours, reading SFM documentation & troubleshooting in order to force these models into SFM without breaking the hardcoded limits.
In terms of modelling, I gathered various reference material from the original show & from behind the scenes videos from animators to ensure the models were considerably accurate on screen. The goal of these designs was to mix the two drone types from the original show together to create something new. The modelling process was thorough as I quickly found out that the designs were extremely deceiving, especially the cartoon mouth and it's shape. Back and forth critique really helped as I was able to see from various different perspectives, putting their advice into practise.
They are by no means 100% accurate to the original Maya & Unreal Engine 5 counterparts made by GLITCH Productions, however I tried to the best of my ability to work within the limits & references provided by my client to ensure these models came out as best as they could.

Animation test created by me in SFM to ensure model functions as intended.
Animation I made in Blender with the same models.
(NOT MY ANIMATION) This animation utilizes one of the model's unique features; custom texture display to showcase the credits.
(NOT MY ANIMATION) This animation showcases variations of the same model, each with their own personalisation. Utilizing the material override & bodygroup features.
